You will need a sheet of paper, a ballpoint pen refill, and a flexible measuring tape.

Measurements should be taken while standing and from both feet. When taking measurements, your weight should be evenly distributed across your entire foot. The measuring tape should fit snugly against your foot.

• Place your foot on a sheet of paper and trace around it with the pen refill, holding it strictly perpendicular to the floor. Do not slide the refill under your heel or toes.
• Your foot length is the distance from the most prominent toe to the heel.
• Girth – measure the widest part of your foot with a measuring tape around the bunion area of the forefoot.
• Instep height – place the measuring tape under your foot in the center of the arch and measure the circumference to the highest point of the foot's instep.
• Diagonal instep – place the measuring tape under your heel and measure diagonally the circumference from the edge of the heel to the beginning of the ankle point.
• High boots require additional shaft circumference measurements.
• Calf circumference is measured every 3 cm, starting from the ankle height up to the widest part of the calf. Note the exact height at which each measurement was taken.
