THE PHILOSOPHY
Slow by design
We make fewer pairs, and we make them properly. Every model begins as a pattern drawn by hand, is cut from carefully chosen leather and finished stitch by stitch. What follows are the places and moments that shaped what we make.
Chapter One
Belonging
Strap lines of the bag cross in motion, echoing a stylized chestnut petal, the emblem of Kyiv. The soft green suede recalls the color of city foliage, muted by dust and time. The lines meet like traffic interchanges, in a complex flow that still leads to the center.
Chapter Two
Moods of the City
Aery ballerinas with outward-facing threads and irregular seams resemble a scattered flock of birds in the air. In the background stands the facade of Gulliver, a glass tower and epicenter of the city's business life. The building rises upward, merging with the clear sky, shaping the image of modern Kyiv — dynamic, rhythmic, and future-oriented.
Chapter Three
Resistance
A thirst for life. Life in resistance. A single earring shaped as the letter "Zh" from Hvoya's Ukrainian alphabet collection, and an anti-tank hedgehog that has become a familiar part of the cityscape. Two objects of different matter, inscribed into the same reality.
Chapter Four
Character
The soft-gathered ballerina mirrors the rhythm of the familiar red-and-white bollards on Zolotovoritska Street. A city's attempt to bring order to Kyivans, proud since the days of Kyivan Rus, when the Golden Gate was first built. The bollards keep cars at bay but also echo the city's innate defiance.
Chapter Five
Culture
The elastic gathering of the ballerina mirrors the rhythm of arched niches on the bell tower of Saint Sophia Cathedral. Light falls gently on both surfaces, the gold of the dome and the milky leather, creating a sense of calm and elevation.
Chapter Six
Movement
The rounded shape of Terra echoes the arched entrance to the Kyiv Funicular station — a shared contour, rhythm, and softness of line. The light tone of the leather picks up the color of the wood and the warmth of the street.
Chapter Seven
Curves
Ajour weave of the Chaotic echoes the wrought patterns of the pavilion. Lightness shaped from heavy metal and the weight of handwork — chaos settling into rhythm.
Chapter Eight
Bloom
The shape of the Nocturne toe mirrors the form of a chestnut blossom — elongated, pointed, upright. Pink suits Kyiv — gentle, calm, assured.
The Hands Behind the Pair
Every pair passes through the same few pairs of hands, from the first sketch to the final polish.
Pattern Maker
Draws every shape by hand and tests it on the last before a single cut is made.
Leather Cutter
Chooses each hide and cuts it by eye, reading the grain and avoiding flaws.
Stitcher
Joins every seam by hand, from ruched linings to fine thread detailing.
Finisher
Burnishes, polishes and checks every pair before it leaves the workshop.
